The Ponicova Cave is the biggest of the entire Danube course (its galleries are 1660 m long). You can enter it both ways: from dry land near the main National Road, or from the Danube by boat. The less experienced can also enjoy it because the gear is not a strict one. We recommend you the “active gallery” of the Ponicova river or the “archaic” one (The Gallery of the Great Snake). The most courageous can also visit the Guano Gallery of the Bats Cave. You may also get a local guide for this if necessary.

“Veterani Cave” is another attraction for the boat-trippers (it can only be accessed on water). Not big, easy to visit, it was the first to be inhabited 400.000 years ago, and from Antiquity to Middle Ages was used in military purposes. Did you know it was the first cave with a map in the world?
